Mindfulness Of Bias

Bias is an adaptive process that allow us to use prior knowledge and experiences to inform decisions and actions in the present. Often bias is unconscious—we are not even aware of it. Bias leads to discrimination and attitudes about people that don’t serve us. Mindfulness practice can help us to bring unconscious bias into our awareness so that we don’t automatically form an opinion or act but can pause and respond with open-heartedness.
